Children's Christmas Party

Our first community event of the 2009/2010 season was our annual Children's Christmas Party held at St. George's of Forest Hill Anglican Church on December 5th.

This event was well attended and from the enthusiasm and joy expressed by the children, and their parents, it was a resounding success.

Before the arrival of Santa Claus, the Kitchener West Optimist volunteers were busy painting faces, making candy canes, decorating cookies and helping the children colour and pick out their favourite book or two to take home.

After a pizza and chicken finger lunch the children were invited to gather around our story teller while they waited with expectation, and more than a little excitement, for Santa to arrive.

A souvenir photo was taken of each as they sat on Santa's knee to receive their gift.
